Canada's gold medal winning team, plus late cuts to the squad Chris Sobkowicz and Gerry Austgarden, will be attending their first camp since the Vancouver Paralympics, this weekend in Richmond, BC.
National team coach Joe Rea and sport psychologist Dr. Laura Farres of Mind In Motion Consulting Inc. will be at the camp. Dr. Farres' article "Preparing Mentally for Major Events" can be read HERE

Oh Please, Gerry Austgarden.
Cormack, Smart , Daw and a tons of other players are way better than him.
Why, I know the buddy of Joe system that's right. I forgot it is the Canadian program, no Justice for anyone but the friends of Joe and Gerry Peckham!!!!
This is one of two BC camps...has Daw evem beem promoted by Curl BC for a look?
Why does no one ask Chris what is happening or if he has interest????
Eric, charge in here and talk to the guy, see what his story is?
God, knows every one else has an opinion . Why not get his?
I'm sure Chris is familiar with this and other comment threads, and is more than capable of speaking for himself. It also will not have escaped him that there are now clear and public paths to (in his case further) Team Canada consideration for those willing to pursue them.
Are you now saying the Team Canada qualificiation is transparent?
Quite simply, given the success of this Team Canada, with no apparent relationship issues within the ranks, it is going to be difficult to displace anyone on the short term. Let's face it, since Jim's arrival, they have won Worlds and Paralympic Gold.
But Jim, Darryl, and Bruno are all getting old. It is time to at least allow Jim the opportunity to mentor someone younger to allow for a trnsition in the next few years.
well said above but maybe that's what they are doing. Does it have to be on everyone else's terms. Let the program manage itself. It's working
Sure I agee with the earlier comment that if Jim can mentor future players that would be great.
But why is he still a player on Team Canada? More importantly why is CCA and Sport Canada waiting so long to make a decision about letting a convicted felon captain Canada's team? Ethically this whole thing stinks and CCA executives should look internally at the code of conduct and ask themselves if their omission to take action is a violation?
No argument about the effectiveness of the Program. Theere can be no argument to success.
Depends how you define "effectiveness" and "success", and whether other strategies that may have helped in areas the present system did not, may have been equally effective and successful.
Who all attended this camp? Was Daw invited/ If not, why not? They say they are canvassing all talent, and Chris has talent.
Most people in the spoting world interpret success as winning. Seems thst is why there are competitions.
And this Program has to be one of the winningest
I agree with the writer above but all the winning did not come from Jim, we must remember everyone who has played their part.
I AGREE AS WELL. IT IS THE PROGRAM, ANDD THEIR ABILITY TO DEVELOP IT MSKES THE CANADIAN PROGRAM A SUCCESS.
