You all have to look at the facts here....

Armstong - Skip

This was the plan for a long time and this is a given.

Neighbour - Third

Logical, he has been playing well and gets along well with Armstrong. May throw 4th but more likely third.

Second - This is a toss up!!!!

The coach will have to decide if Forest is playing lead or using her hitting ability to play second

If not forest, Austgarden, I think he is their for the long term, playing ability or not (more NOT!)

Lead - Well Gaudet or Forrest is the call here.

Alternate - I don't think CCA or Rae will go with out 2 females so I would have to call Gaudet as Alternate

Seems three spots are a given:

Armstrong at skip, as it should be

Neighbour at third, a good complement to Jim

Forrest to satisfy female aspect at front end

One other starter....likely Sobkowicz at second

Yizek as alternate to sub fro Sobkowicz.

Unfortunately, this is quite a switch from 2006, but shows the strength of Canada

Vote is likely simple for Armstrong, Neighbour and Forrest.

That leaves NO MORE than 2 spots for the last 5 athletes. If they choose to go with 2 women, I believe that there are 4 guys for but 1 spot. ODDS ARE that there could be yet another change (Sobkowicz or Yizek), which (other than the alternate)totally kicks the 2006 winners....bad choices or improvement of the sport?

I suggest that 3 years ago does not get you qualified in this environment.

The voting even indicates, that at best, there will be a change at skip and third, as well as Ina playing. Not much room for the 2006 team.

Just the reality.....

Was watching your website with interest as my good pal and fellow curler Mark W was playing with Team Victoria. ( way to go Mark). Sounds like it was a top notch event and the curling was very competitive. Also want to congratulate team Alberta for their big win. (way to go Jack)
This just reinforces the abilities of other curlers in Canada and bodes well for 2014 when I would hope that their will be a more broad and expanded criteria for trying to make it to the Team Canada selection list.
In any event I just wanted to say that the selection for Team Canada should take the 4 best that they have and if they all come from BC than so be it. As I saw Bruno and Chris curl at the nationals last season and I do know both are good players and also deserve the chance to make the Team Canada team. ( personally I do think one of them should be there for sure).
In any event, lets make up are minds already and get this team picked so everyone knows where they stand.
Hope with some good curling ( and a little luck) to ultimately win in Thunder Bay this year and represent Northern Ontario at this years Nationals. Hope to see many of you there again.

Sincerely

Wayne Ficek
