tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756899534609502905.post2616472429785757901..comments2012-08-14T19:42:35.363-07:00Comments on Wheelchair Curling Blog: Team Canada devlopment camp begins in Richmond BC.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16977271452654335000noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756899534609502905.post-5700808008802231562011-10-04T06:34:37.765-07:002011-10-04T06:34:37.765-07:00I was at the Club all day Saturday, and watched wi...I was at the Club all day Saturday, and watched with interest this Camp.<br /><br />The most obvious point, I think, that did come out is how far ahead the present Team Canada is, compared to the rest of the participants.<br /><br />Other than Jim, I am sure the results of Team Canada members is a direct consequence of quality training and exposure to the best competition available.<br /><br />I am NOT an advocate of select teams, but until you get the volume of numbers way above present numbers, international success will not happen without a Select Team.<br /><br />Proof will show,I believe, at the Richmond event, when the pack will get their shot at Team Canada.<br /><br />Great Program, and great results.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09283167331483870862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756899534609502905.post-7256585492944125532011-10-03T06:51:23.322-07:002011-10-03T06:51:23.322-07:00I am a senior curler from Richmond, and watched th...I am a senior curler from Richmond, and watched the National Camp off and on over the weekend. <br /><br />Having been around the Club for many years, and helped in some of the Wheelchair events held at our club, I must say, I was impressed with he general calibre of the players, compared, even to three or four years ago.<br /><br />The National Team and staff certainly seemed to be very well received and appreciated by everyone, and it was great to so see many coaches, who appeared to be from all over the country. <br /><br />The level of cooperation between the competitors was great, even though, I imagine, everyone is there for a shot at a Team Canada spot.<br /><br />I certainly agree that there cannot be much chance of breaking the present line-up, but participating can carry on for years. <br /><br />I wish the Program well, and, if possible, the unbelievable continued success it has enjoyed domestically in the past three years.<br /><br />I will be there for the annual Richmond Wheelchair event in November.Craighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04261524168159449705noreply@blogger.com
